Emma’s Story
Hey there!
My name is Emma Compton, I’m a 24 year old pastry chef and proud graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa. Baking has been my lifelong passion, and I feel so grateful to do what I love every single day. Born and raised in Regina Saskatchewan, I’ve been creating desserts for as long as I can remember. Turning that childhood love into my career has been a dream come true.
My pastry journey started early, at just five years old! During high school at Miller Comprehensive, I had the privilege of learning from Chef Martin Turcotte, a talented Red Seal Chef who truly inspired me. Through his advanced pastry and culinary classes, I gained hands-l on experience, competed in cooking competitions, and helped with school events that gave me my first real taste of the pastry world. Those experiences solidified my path in the culinary arts.
In 2022, I moved to Ottawa to study at Le Cordon Bleu, where I earned my Diplôme de Pâtisserie under world class French chefs. Their mentorship and high standards pushed me to refine my skills and prepared me for the realities of the industry. Now, I’m proud to bring those techniques, and a whole lot of passion back home to Saskatchewan.
Today, I am the proud owner and pastry chef of Emma’s Cakes & Patisserie, where I specialize in handcrafted desserts, custom cakes, and French inspired pastries. I’m a full time vendor at the Regina Farmers’ Market and also take part in various markets and pop ups across Saskatchewan throughout the year. Recently, I was honoured to be nominated for the Young Entrepreneur Award through the Regina Chamber of Commerce Paragon Awards, a recognition that means so much as I continue to grow my small business.
You can find my desserts at the Local Market in Regina, the Regina Farmers’ Market, and at special events across the province. Every dessert I make is crafted with care, creativity, and a little touch of joy!
